Ecomusée du Pays de Rennes

Why did we go to the Ecomusée of Rennes ?

The International Section of Rosa Parks's middle school organized a trip in Cornwall connected with moorlands.

The visit of the Ecomusée was like our starting point.

On the other side, the 6e6 had a project on landscapes : the Ecomusée was the link between the two.

There, our excellent guide, Paul, explained to us the moorlands, its history, their actual protection.

What did we do there?

First of all, we had the class "divided" into 4 groups of 12. After that, each group one by one had to visit the temporary exhibition of the museum : Landes de Bretagne, patrimoine vivant.

Check this there !

We also visited other parts of the Ecomusée.

We saw many different animals, were outside on a sunny day... Lovely!

We also visited the permanent exhibition on life in the countryside of Rennes : there are many interesting facts, even if we didn't think that first.

Then, we all met at 11.30 am on a pic nic area.

To continue this day out, the 4 groups of 12 became groups of 2 and each groups went to the same exhibition. But this time, Paul or other teachers were there to explain us indepth the moors' history : we had to listen carefully because we had to fill in a questionnaire about moor lands and landscapes.

At the end of the day, we saw the huge room the Ecomusée is going to lend us to exhibit our artistic works in connection with moorlands. That was the last moment in the Ecomusée.

What a day!
